Klaus Wowereit (born 1 October 1953 in Berlin) is a German politician. He has been mayor of Berlin since 2001. In 1973, Wowereit attended the Ulrich-von-Hutten-Oberschule in West Berlin. He then studied law at the Free University Berlin.
